A short time ago a 7.8 magnitude earthquake
struck in the middle of the afternoon in Central China. Trembles were felt as far away as Shanghai, Beijing and Bangkok, Thailand. Over 9000 people are estimated to have died and many more are trapped in fallen buildings. 80% of the building at the epicenter collapsed.
Schools and business were among the buildings downed, in during the busiest time of day. The BBC (link above) has a detailed article, which I’ve posted below.. Following that are links to geological maps and earthquake reporting sites.

Shaun, I’ll love you forever, I’ll miss you till always..
I wonder what Shaun might think of the County taking down his memorial, where the accident happened that ultimately took his life last November 19, 2007?![]()
The following may surprise you. It did me, because many of these ideas have been circulating in alternative medicine for years. John Hopkins Cancer Research Facility has released suggestions for lowering the amount of cancer cells in our bodies. According to the article, everyone has cancer cells. A healthy person’s immune system will eliminate those cells when the volume isn’t too great. When the immune system is weak and/or life style, environment and diet feed cancer cells, that is when they reproduce to the point of detectability. When they are detected, is when the doctor says the person has cancer. Read on for the latest suggestions from John Hopkins..
Jill Bolte Taylor tells her experience of having a stroke. with all the clarity and insight of a person who studies the brain for her life’s work.
from the transcript:
I grew up to study the brain because I have a brother who has been diagnosed with a brain disorder, schizophrenia. And as a sister and as a scientist, I wanted to understand, why is it that I can take my dreams, I can connect them to my reality, and I can make my dreams come true – what is it about my brother’s brain and his schizophrenia that he cannot connect his dreams to a common, shared reality, so they instead become delusions?

And in that moment my right arm went totally paralyzed by my side. And I realized, “Oh my gosh! I’m having a stroke! I’m having a stroke!” And the next thing my brain says to me is, “Wow! This is so cool. This is so cool. How many brain scientists have the opportunity to study their own brain from the inside out?”
